or…It’s My Turn, It’s Your Turn…It’s My Turn.. But this time it could be the voters turn!

Sometimes when you are just looking around on the Internet you can discover some interesting items, like an article titled Hutchison Slices Into Perry’s Donor Base by W. Gardner Selby at the statesman.com. I would like to just lift a few quotes.

“Hutchison’s finance chairman, John Nau of Houston, said the Perry-to-Hutchison shifts were rooted in promises made to Hutchison when she bowed out of challenging Perry in 2006 …Nau, a former Perry appointee to the Texas Historical Commission, said he helped Perry backers dissuade Hutchison from challenging Perry in 2006. At the time, Nau said, Perry told him: Next time is her time.”

Some may wonder why this kind of information about Perry and Hutchison are on a web page designed for Debra Medina. I hope it will give you a view of just how Perry and Hutchison and their money backers view the Governor’s office. “It’s his time, it’s her time…etc,” as though the office of governor is theirs to swap and trade. There seems to be absolutely no consideration to the wishes of the ordinary voters.

If you want someone to represent your views and values and understands that those holding an elected office should be accountable to the people who elected them…not to their biggest donors, then go to

www.medinafortexas.com . Sign up as a supporter and make a contribution, even if it is small. I am convinced that there are more of us “little people” than there are of these out of touch elitists, but we all have to do our part to get “our” candidate elected. DEBRA MEDINA FOR GOVERNOR in 2010!

Wayne Slater posted on his Political Blog for the Dallas MorningNews today, some recent donation figures to the Perry Campaign. They are as follows: “Perry got $50,000 in September from the Texas Realtors political action committee.

He got the following:

$35,000 from the state homebuilders PAC and $25,000 from the politically well-connected Hillco lobby shop, whose big giver is Houston homebuilder Bob Perry.

Other big-dollar checks Rick Perry has received since July:

$25,000 from the Texas Apartment Association,

$10,000 from the nursing home industry,

$25,000 from Houston horse and dog racing executive Charles Hurwitz’s PAC,

$25,000 from the optometrists and

$25,000 from the BG Distribution wine and beer wholesalers.

Although highway administrators have declared Perry’s Trans-Texas Corridor project dead, the governor continues to collect from toll-road interests —

$25,000 from the political action committee for Houston construction executive James Dannenbaum and

$22,000 from toll consulting giant Hntb Holdings.”

Can there be any question whether Perry’s loyalty is to the voters of Texas or is it to the monied “special interest?” Also do you really believe the TTC project is dead when Perry has already received nearly $50,000 from toll-road interests like Dannenbaum and Hntb Holdings? Of course such donation come with no strings attached.

Now we should not think that Hutchison is interested in the Taxpayers of Texas when she has shown herself to be the friend of Wall Street with her “bail out” vote. Now she says “she’s sorry”! A little late I would say.

The only candidate for governor who represents the views and values of Texans is Debra Medina, who was asked to run by ordinary citizens who are sick of being used by entrenched politicians for their own benefit and their own agenda. Debra Medina is truly the “people’s choice” candidate for Governor. She is committed to our Constitution and to the rule of law, where everyone is treated equally. She supports the form of government where individual liberty and personal freedom are valued and protected.

Medina for Governor of Texas in 2010!

In other words, what you see is not necessarily what you get. from www.impeachperry.indytexans.org

In fact, Perry Vetoed 49 bills passed in the 2007 legislative session, after the legislature went home, so he could not be overridden. Mr. Veto would probably argue that he restrained himself from the record he set in 2001, when he vetoed 82 bills, more than any governor in any single legislative session in Texas history since reconstruction. According to Paul Burka of the Texas Monthly, 17 of this year’s Perry vetoes were simply to get back at legislators who crossed him on his precious mega-special interest driven Trans-Texas Corridor and HPV vaccine mandate.

In 2003, Perry and Mike Krusee (R-Round Rock) snookered their legislative colleagues by pushing through legislation for the Trans-Texas Corridor and freeway-to-tollway conversions, that few understood. The Governor, Krusee, Texas Transportation Commissioner, Ric Williamson, and a few others continue to force what the public simply will not accept. And a revolving door in Austin goes round and round. Our favorite example is Dan Shelley, a high powered lobbyist for CINTRA (the Spanish toll road consortium), who wound up working in the Governor’s office writing transportation legislation.

Vetoing the first Corridor/Toll moratorium bill (HB 1892), then deforming the second moratorium bill (SB 792) taking from ordinary Texans a clear, unadulterated shot at a 30 month moratorium on the Governor’s universally hated plan to build the massive Trans-Texas Corridor and his freeway-to-tollway privatization boondoggles. (Don’t worry, folks — this fight is far from over, as Texans are gearing up to give the Governor the political hell-on-earth he so deserves to put a stop to this.)

Vetoing eminent domain reform designed to protect private property rights and to stop the taking of over 1 million acres of prime farm and ranchland — for the Trans-Texas Corridor — the largest land seizure in United States history.

Calling three special sessions on mid-census redistricting, disenfranchising not only Democratic voters, but the state’s growing numbers of independent voters whose voting power is diminished when “swing” districts are eliminated. The redistricting violated the Voting Rights Act, campaign finance laws and necessitated huge expenditures of taxpayer dollars in endless lawsuits and legal maneuvers. (In the end, what did we get — the downfall of DeLay, the revolt against Speaker Craddick — still underway, and the people’s movement for Perry’s impeachment! But scoundrels never learn.)

Perry’s small business franchise tax, which has increased taxes for many small businesses by a ten-fold average! (This is no joke, folks — straight from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.)

Vetoing no less than 2 bills and one appropriations rider to help the beleaguered Community College System, including $150 million health insurance for the community college employees, while admonishing the colleges to “follow state law”. Why doesn’t the Governor do the same thing by curbing his veto fetish?

Unbelievably vetoing a bill banning diesel-fueled school buses idling to curb bus emissions exposing children to fine particles that can trigger asthma attacks. This bill had widespread support, no voiced opposition (including the Governor’s office) and was drawn upon an initiative by the President!

Selling out consumer protection for homeowners by stacking the Texas Residential Construction Commission with appointees from the construction industry. For example, Perry took $690,000 from homebuilder Bob Perry (Perry Homes — no relation) and appointed Perry Homes attorney, John Krush to the Commission. Former Comptroller Carole Strayhorn thought it was such a joke that she called for the abolition of the commission and welcomed a legal challenge by the Attorney General.

Mandating Texas girls be vaccinated against the HPV virus, before entering the 6th grade (to which the legislature gave the full Nelson, pinning Perry to the mat, undoing this Merck Pharmaceuticals special interest driven deed!) It turned out that Perry had received campaign money from Merck, as did much of the legislature, and his former chief of staff, Mike Toomey, is a lobbyist for Merck.

A series of vetoes put the Perry poison pen to bipartisan criminal justice reform that would slow the pace of incarceration and provide for alternative funding mechanisms. Meanwhile prison guards remain some of the worst paid workers in the state and, as a result, the state prisons are dangerously under guarded. (In fact, we hear the Governor thinks prison guards should be paid minimum wage for the privilege of putting their lives on the line every day.)

I borrowed this title from an article by Laura Ingraham. I suggest that everyone check out her article at http://www.lauraingraham.com/blog?categoryID=2

If the Republican Party in New York has a “tin ear,” perhaps this is a disease that has infested the Republican Party nationally, including Texas. The citizens have been outraged and outspoken about many things that have happened under the Perry administration, including his support for the TTC, his support for mandatory vaccinations for your girls, his condoning of the abduction of 400 children from their parents, without cause. I could go on. Yet the State Chairman of the Republican Party recently stepped down from that position to help ramrod Perry’s re-election efforts on the voters.

Now don’t get me wrong, these comments are not intended as support for Kay “bail out” Hutchison. She represents everything that is wrong in Washington. She has been there while the Republicans controlled the White House, the Senate and the House and what happened? Government intervention into our lives grew, the over all government grew and of course the government budget and debt grew. Her record shows she voted in agreement with the Bush administration over 90 percent of the time. Those eight years are the reason we now have Obama in the White and the Democrats controlling Congress. People were sick of what the Republicans had done to our country. Now that is not what Texans want in Austin.

However, there is a Republican candidate that is running for Governor of Texas that is a true conservative and was asked to run by the ordinary citizens to represent our views and our values. If the Republican Party would throw their support behind this candidate, she could deliver a land slide win for the Party. However, the “tin eared” party hacks think they know more than the citizens. It will be interesting to see what happens in New York on Tuesday. It may be just a preview of what will happen in Texas in March.

The citizens are saying we are smart enough to know who we want to be our leaders and it is not someone who has spent years and years cutting deals and playing politics to advance their own careers and their own agendas. We want a candidate who is one of us. We want Debra Medina for Governor!

Vote AGAINST Big Government Pimp Rick Perry in the 2010 GOP primary. Rick Perry gives a speech at a Tea Party rally but all he does is promote TAXING, TOLLING, BIG SPENDING and BIG GOVERNMENT. What is the real record of Big Government Pimp Rick Perry?

1) TRANS TEXAS CORRIDOR and the gargantuan, multi-billion dollar toll road fiasco with its “Comprehensive Development Agreements” (CDAs). The TTC and the toll roads are the biggest TAXING, SPENDING, BORROWING AND TOLLING INCREASE in the history of Texas! The toll road scam screws Texas taxpayers, consumers, drivers and landowners. Big Government Pimp Rick Perry shoved toll roads down the throats of millions of Texans. It is a prime example of the big government, pro-tax, pro-toll, pro debt agenda of Big Government Pimp Rick Perry. Toll roads and CDAs are ticking TIME BOMBS of DEBT.

2) How about that BUSINESS MARGINS TAX that Big Government Pimp Rick Perry pushed through in 2007? These victims have to pay taxes on some formula of the total revenue of their companies. That means these small companies pay taxes on revenue, not income or profits. So you still pay taxes even if you are losing money!!

3) Big Government Pimp Rick Perry tried to mandate that all the young girls in Texas be FORCED to take an HPV VACCINE! That was a tremendous invasion into the FAMILY LIVES of millions of Texans and this idiotic Big Brother stunt is reason enough to vote for anyone but Rick Perry. Big Government Pimp Rick Perry wants to stick a needle filled with a possibly dangerous, probably ineffective chemical into the arms of every 12 year old girl in Texas.

4) It was really tragic for Big Government Pimp Rick Perry to support the raid in the FLDS community and removal of 439 children from their parents on the basis of an out-of-state CRANK phone call. Think of all the tears, trauma and family destruction that Rick Perry and an out-of-control Child “Protective” Services caused when they tore apart hundreds of lives. As of today, all but ONE of the children have been sent back to their parents. This was a clear case of RELIGIOUS OPPRESSION by Big Government Pimp Rick Perry and CPS.

5) How about BORROWING $3 Billion for medical research pork barrel in that Lance Armstrong cancer deal? Big Government Pimp Rick Perry in action. Or the $5 door fee (original article refers to coase name for a woman’s bosom) ….. BAR TAX Rick Perry supported to TAX every patron of a topless club? What garbage, he wants to oppress strippers and their patrons now!Big Government Pimp Rick Perry wants to ride shotgun with you, taxing you, tolling you, sticking needles in your daughter, even stealing from strippers! Whether you are at home, driving on a road, running a business, raising a daughter, or dancing at a topless bar.

We would like to thank Robert for this research!.

The controversy swirling around the Cameron Todd Willingham case has caused all eyes to focus on the question of the death penalty in Texas. But the real question is justice. It is the principal role of government to insure justice and in doing that to protect innocent life. While I will agree that there are some crimes so heinous the death penalty is the only just punishment, we must protect innocent human life. That means suspending the sentence where evidence indicates that there is a shadow of doubt. Governor Perry apparently had the opportunity to do that in this case. He chose not to.

And now five years later just as evidence is to be presented to the Texas Forensic Science Commission the governor has gutted the panel. If the governor cared about justice, he’d work hard to insure that the panel’s work is completed in all due haste, that all the evidence is considered. And if that evidence reveals we have a problem in our criminal justice system, he’d work swiftly to remedy it so as not to ever execute an innocent person. It takes some maturity, some serious maturity to face reality. Texas deserves that in our leader. This constant changing of the guard when he doesn’t like the findings is more evidence that the governor behaves more and more like a tyrant, “off with their heads” when people don’t agree with him. Texas deserves better.

Note: Debra got a lot of coverage on this statement – even on liberal blog posts which agreed with her!
