But with voters who think she is a truther, or that she might be, she gets only 7% to 51% for Perry and 30% for Hutchison. What portion of the electorate do each of those groups comprise? We’ll tell you tomorrow.

An e-mail exchange between Glenn Beck co-host and a Medina supporter asking that she get on the show. This is proof positive that Glenn “set her up” and of course he did “not like her from the start” as he said. “ from e-mail …” OK…this is SOOOO irritating. Who sicked Debra MEDINA ON ME?!?!?! Come ON! Why do I deserve this concerted campaign, Jeff? Don’t tell me this is spontaneous, because I KNOW it isn’t.

Did her people put out some flash or something? Seriously, we’re working, like 16 hours a day trying to save the Republic…and I have to put up with THIS? For a candidate with 16% support no less?!?!?!

Thanks to http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread542514/pg1 for this post

I have been a fan of Beck since I first heard him in 2002. This is just about pushing me over the edge with that program . . . which says a lot.

Just a little background . . . Texas has Governor Primaries on March 2, 2010. There are three candidates. Rick Perry (incumbent, been in office for nine years). Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX senator since 1993), and Debra Medina.

The latest poll is:

Perry – 39%

Hutchison – 28%

Medina – 24%.

Perry is a another Bush (even attended Bildeberger), and has the big corperations behind him. Hutchison has betrayed TX many times. Medina is pushing state rights, anti-gun control, anti-property taxes, etc. Grass roots movement, for the people.

Two months ago, Medina was at 4%. After the first debate, she jumped up to 12%. A week later, she was at 16%. After the second/final debate, she is at 24%. Her numbers is the only one that is rising. The others are falling. AND she has spent next to nothing!

Here is a good article:

The survey by Public Policy Polling showed Perry leading the GOP field with 39%, followed by Hutchison at 28% and Medina — a favorite of the Tea Party crowd — at 24%.

More significant, among self-identified conservatives — those most likely to turn out in the March 2 primary — Perry had 42% support to Medina’s 25% and Hutchison’s 23%.

Given the survey’s 4.8% margin of error, Hutchison, long considered the most popular politician in Texas, is effectively tied with the little-known, meagerly funded Medina.

(How meagerly? As of Tuesday, she had raised less than $600,000, a pittance compared to the $50 million Perry and Hutchison are expected to spend between them.)

Supporting Link

Check out the debates. She knows her stuff, and does not mind speaking her mind. And she is for the people!

For crying out loud . . . Ron Paul endorsed Medina, and actively supports her.

Now for what has me riled at Glenn Beck . . .

The following is an email exchange from someone who emailed the GN program to try and get Medina an interview.

1st EMAIL I SENT TO PAY GRAY:

From: Jeff Neely [mailto:jdneely@sbcglobal.net]

Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2010 2:05 PM

To: Gray, Pat

Subject: Please Listen To Me

Debra Medina is the real deal. Please promote her as the best candidate for Texas Governor. She is a real American and what starts in Texas can change the country. At least call her and give her a chance. I didn’t give her the time of day, then I listened and was BLOWN away! She got my vote and my family is VERY closely tied to Hutchinson…

Come on – it is obvious Medina doesn’t have any “big money” talking in her ear. By that virtue alone she beats all the others out. Anyone that follows politics knows that money is what is ruining our country. Doesn’t it make sense to value someone with character? Bringing character back into our society is the only way we will survive.

Call me, quote me, whatever – just do what is right. Our country is being sold to whoever can put out the best advertising

… and money follows the candidates that are controllable.

Jeff Neely

Phone number was here

2nd EMAIL – RESPONSE FROM PAT GRAY

First let me say how much I admire you and your courage.

However, I am surprised at your tone in the interview with Debra. It was as if you had predetermined that you would “trash” her. In fact, you said you didn’t like her from the beginning.

I know her personally and I could tell she was nervous. Being on your show is a real “coup” for those of us who have no money but are a grassroots movement. I wish you had had the benefit of sitting down with her.

As for me, I have not thought about the controversy about 9-11 much myself. And coming to the conclusion that 9-11 truthers are out to destroy this country is an erroneous one. People must question government on all fronts. It is practically impossible to know about and question every issue. I would say that the issue (although it has been raised to a level of fervor in some circles) is not important enough to some people to do their own research and look into it.

It is a non-issue compared to exposing those who are trying to destroy our government. 9-11 truthers typically are not out to do that so again your conclusion was an erroneous one. uestioning leads to a healthy country. And just because you say that it is the leading issue in the country that people should question it and come to definitive a conclusion does not may it so.

One of the reasons you are having to take such a stand now and tolerate the arrows being thrown at you is because you have had the audacity to question. People in this country have been lazy for too long and have not questioned government at all.

And although the questions that some people ask (including 9-11) are to me ridiculous, they have a right to focus on that if they want. Other people focus on other things, like who is in the White House that are communists etc.

We have no history to show us that 9-11 leaders are out to destroy this country. We have plenty of history to show us the evils of all of the “isms”

I am disappointed in you but we are all human and my disappointment in this interview does not negate my admiration for all that you are doing.

God bless,

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 9, 2010
INTERVIEWS: DEAN DEBNAM 888-621-6988 / 919-880-4888 (serious media
inquiries only please, other questions can be directed to Tom Jensen)
QUESTIONS ABOUT THE POLL: TOM JENSEN 919-744-6312
Medina becoming a factor in Texas
Raleigh, N.C. – Rick Perry continues to hold onto a double digit lead in the Republican
primary for Governor of Texas but the biggest story may be that Debra Medina is coming
on strong.
Perry is at 39% to 28% for Kay Bailey Hutchison and 24% for Medina. There are major
splits within the race along ideological lines. Perry is at 42% with conservatives, and
Medina is now outpolling Hutchison with them by a 25-23 margin. Hutchison cleans up
with moderates, leading Perry 49-29, but unfortunately for her prospects they account for
only 20% of GOP primary voters.
One finding in the poll helps sum up the mood in the country right now and may give a
clue as to why Hutchison is having so much trouble. Asked whether they trust Austin or
Washington politicians more to solve Texas’ problems, state level politicians win out by
a margin of 78-3.
There’s no doubt Medina is riding the wave of discontent with the political establishment.
She actually leads the race, 37-32 over Perry, with the third of primary voters who
disapprove of Washington politicians. With those who are happy she trails well behind at
17%.
“The big question for Debra Medina is whether there’s enough unhappy voters out there
for her to get into a runoff with Rick Perry,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public
Policy Polling. “That would rank up there with the results of the Massachusetts Senate
election as an early shocker in the 2010 political season.”
There is less drama on the Democratic side- Bill White leads Farouk Shami 49-19.
PPP surveyed 400 likely Democratic primary voters and 423 likely Republican primary
voters from February 4th to 7th. The margin of error for the Democratic survey is +/-
4.9% and for the Republicans it’s +/-4.8%. Other factors, such as refusal to be
interviewed and weighting, may introduce additional error that is more difficult to
quantify.
Complete results are attached and can be found at www.publicpolicypolling.com.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, there seem to be many negative blogs generated on the Internet recently concerning Debra Medina. One that is getting lots of attention is that some of Debra’s supporters have behaved rudely. Two events that have been cited are the ‘nullification rally” and the individual holding a Medina sign when Perry was speaking.

First the “nullification rally” smelled of a Perry rally even before it occurred.

After speaking with one of the organizers, I chose not to attend. However, Medina supporters were encouraged to attend and Debra even changed her schedule believing she would be allowed to speak. When her supports realized they had been used, I am sure there was anger and frustration, that the planners should have anticipated. Not that this is an excuse for anyone to behave rudely, but we do not live in a perfect world and sometime things get out of hand. Even in negative blogs, I have not seen anyone accuse Mrs. Medina for conducting herself in an unlady like fashion.

Now for the gentleman with the pro-Medina sign at the pro-life rally. I have asked several Medina supporters if they know this person. So far, no one has. He did not describe himself as a Medina supporter, but as a “lone wolf.” Is it impossible that he was a plant to give Perry a perfect one liner about “loving one’s enemies.” It seems enemies is a pretty strong term. I am a Medina supporter and will not be voting for Mr. Perry. I consider him an opponent in a heated political struggle…but I would not call him an enemy.

By this discussion concerning the so called “rude” conduct of the Medina supporters, it seems there is a desire for Mrs. Medina to “control” her supporters. I fear that the very concept of freedom is lost even among people who call themselves “freedom lovers.” Freedom is messy, it is not at all like regimented socialism that demands total obedience to ones leaders. We seem to have forgotten freedom demands personal responsibility, When there is behavior we do not like, instead of holding that person responsible, we have become very prone to placing the blame elsewhere, usually on society, not the individual. (Ex. the student that guns down fellow students, we are told was bullied and felt he was an outsider…the solutions, anti-bullying education, which takes time away from the subject matter for which children are being sent to school.)

To blame Debra for the conduct of another person is totally unjustified, unless you believe that Debra herself is encouraging rude behavior and anyone that would suggest that, is totally misinformed.

So far as the incompetence of Debra’s campaign, that is a laugh. This rag tag group of passionate, truly freedom loving, mostly volunteers have done an outstanding job of drafting their own, unknown candidate and managing her campaign in such a way that the public and private news media now consider her a “rising star” and a “serious candidate” and have included her in their statewide debates. If we had had a 6 to 12 million dollar war chest, I am not sure there is some high priced professional political guru that we could have hired who could have accomplished this feat.

This has occurred because the message of Freedom was what our Founding Fathers were willing to die for and it is the same message for which our young men and women go into battle for every day. However, ordinary citizens know that the path we have been on for the last 30 or more years, from both parties, is not encouraging freedom, it is encouraging, total government control. As a Medina supporter and someone who urged her to take on this challenge and personal sacrifice, I am sorry that everyone who supports Debra does not hold the same behavioral standards that I do, (some might wish that I held different standards) but that does not make their contribution to the cause of freedom any less valuable. Perhaps if they see that their conduct is less effective than other conduct, then they themselves might modify their behavior.

However, when they are attacked by people who simply disagree with them, they are probably more likely to attack back. Two wrongs never make a right. Also to blame Debra for their behavior accomplishes nothing and relieves them of their responsibility. It makes on think that perhaps those criticizing really do not care about improving behavior, but are only interested in trying to smear or otherwise discredit Mrs. Medina.

It has recently been published that the Perry campaign has actually paid felons to assist in recruiting voter turn out.

Now while I do not in any way support the Perry campaign, I do not believe or accuse Perry of supporting or condoning such action. I would only wish the Perry supporters were equally gracious toward Mrs. Medina.

I have seen several negative blogs concerning Debra Medina recently. It seems negative blogs have greatly increased since the KERA debate. The previous tactic seemed to be, just ignore her and maybe she will go away. Now that it is clear that Debra is in this race to to the end, the decision seems to be, now is the time to go negative.

One particular negative and untruthful blog that I have seen several times. states that Debra lost her law suit against the RPT and that she owes thousands of dollars to the RPT for their legal fees. Now I understand, the RPT can’t be responsible for every blogger that writes in their behalf, any more than Debra Medina can be responsible for the behavior of each of her supporters. However, the truth of this situation is pretty easy to correct.

At the last Republican State Convention, bylaws of the party state that the new chairman and vice chairman for the convention will be elected before other business of the convention is conducted. (This is a paraphrase, not exact language.) The then chairman was continuing to conduct the business of the convention without holding the election for the new chairman and vice chairman. Debra through the court, sought an injunction to halt the business of the convention, until the proper elections were held. The judge ruled on a technicality that Debra had made her request in the wrong jurisdiction and dismissed the case. So the merits of her case were never heard.

Then the RPT appealed, seeking that Debra should be required to pay their legal fees. I have heard numbers ranging from $14,000 to $30,000 plus.

On January 4th, the three judge panel for the appeal’s court ruled in Debra’s favor, that she did not have to pay the RPT legal fees. It is that simple. People who continue to post that Debra owes the RPT for legal fees and has not paid them, are either very ill informed, or are deliberately spreading false information. In either case, their comments should not be taken with any degree of credibility.

‘ & –>Posted Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010

AUSTIN — After months of being largely dismissed in a race dominated by the state’s two Republican heavyweights, Debra Medina is making her presence felt with an anti-establishment message that has evidently struck a chord among a segment of Republican voters.

Buoyed by her performance against Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison in last week’s televised debate, the conservative activist has climbed to 12 percent in the latest Rasmussen Reports poll, up from 4 percent in November, a showing that prompted organizers to include her in a second debate Jan. 29.

“Her performance in the debate made her the legitimate and credible ‘none-of-the-above,’ ” said Harvey Kronberg of the Austin-based Quorum Report, an online political newsletter.

While Medina remains a distant third with little realistic hope of pulling off an upset, experts say, her recent burst of momentum has enhanced her credibility and raised the prospect of forcing Perry and Hutchison into a runoff after the March 2 primary. The Rasmussen team called Medina “the only candidate who is gaining ground.”

At the same time, analysts say, the broader attention has made Medina a bigger target, increasing scrutiny on some of her more controversial positions. Perry and Hutchison may also be inclined to toughen their attack against her at next week’s debate at WFAA/Channel 8 in Dallas. The debate, sponsored by Belo TV stations and The Dallas Morning News, was initially limited to the two leading candidates. But on Monday, organizers said they expanded it to include Medina based on her improved poll standing. Medina supporters had protested their candidate’s exclusion.

In a telephone interview Tuesday, Medina said the political bounce has generated more than $60,000 in contributions over the past four days, infusing her campaign with a “tremendous amount of new enthusiasm and excitement.”

During Thursday’s debate in Denton, hosted by KERA/Channel 13 and co-sponsored by the Star-Telegram, Medina underscored her views for whacking government regulation and depicted Perry and Hutchison as establishment politicians.

Medina, a former Wharton County GOP chairwoman, also touted signature themes of replacing property taxes with sales taxes and removing government controls over gun ownership.

Medina’s message resonates with participants in last year’s Tea Party protests against rising taxes and burdensome regulations from Washington, analysts say.

Tarrant County Republican Chairwoman Stephanie Klick said Medina is also drawing support from voters who haven’t been active in party politics.

“She appeals to a lot of these newcomers,” Klick said. “I think there are a lot of people who didn’t know there was a third candidate in the race.”

“She’s definitely the candidate of discontent right now, and it’s a good time to be the candidate of discontent,” said Jim Henson, director of the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas at Arlington. Her challenge over the next six weeks, he said, will be to “to portray herself as a political outsider but not an extremist.”

(This is long but well worth the read- Admin) Excerpt : This is a pivotal moment for the Republican Party and it leaders. Will they show leadership and return to their founding principles or will they ignore the voters one time too many, and see our state and nation continue its slide into complete socialistic control. I am begging you to change your endorsement and give your support to Debra Medina. Together, we can all win!

When is it honorable to go back on your word? The immediate response is, “never.” However, I have been giving this question some serious thought recently. Sometimes we make a promise or pledge before we know all the facts, or what if the facts change over time, so that keeping our original promise, would actually work against our original intent?

Some examples: The young man asks the girl of his dreams to be his wife. Later he learns she has been unfaithful even during their courtship and has repeatedly lied to him about the fact. Should he feel honor bound to marry her anyway? I think most would say “No.”

Suppose one’s best friend asked for a loan to cover unexpected medical bills for his sick daughter and you promised to make such a loan on your next payday. Before payday, you discover the loan is not for medical bills, but for gambling debts. Are you honor bound to make the loan anyway? Again the proper answer seems to be, “No.”

Finally the football coach, after reviewing the films of the opposing team, plans a defensive strategy and promises certain players they will play in the next game. On game day, the other team lines up in an unexpected offense. Does the coach stick to the original strategy or does he make “adjustments.” Certainly he makes adjustments, even though some players may not get to play.

Certainly we all make “adjustments” or go back on our word, as we gain better understanding of the situation or gain more information. To continue doing something that would be detrimental to ourselves and to others would be considered foolish or even “dishonorable!”

Now lets apply this to the current political situation. Some people decided to run for governor on the Democratic ballot. Certainly they had supporters who believed in them and had promised their support. Yet recently when Bill White entered the race, was it dishonorable for some of their early supporters to indicated they would now be supporting White? Or was it dishonorable to their supporters for some of the candidates to withdraw from the race? Likewise, an announced candidate on the Republican ballot for governor withdrew from the race and pledged his support to Debra Medina, a candidate who he felt had a better chance of winning. Should this be considered dishonorable.? Not at all. If you truly want to win in politics, just as in football, sometimes you have to make “adjustments”

Now perhaps it would be the honorable thing to do for some of the conservative groups and individuals to reconsider their support for Hutchison and Perry. These candidates wisely went out seeking endorsements early and when many of these people made their pledges, it was based on the belief that these two would be the only viable names on the Republican ballot. Some people have even admitted that they were not necessarily happy with the candidate they are supporting, but they would have to vote for “the lesser of two evils” once again.

This year with the formation of the grass roots tea parties and the 9-12 events a strong anti-incumbent movement is sweeping the country, as well as Texas. These independent Texans even drafted their own candidate to represent their views and values. However, the media nor the Republican Party leaders has taken this candidate seriously. Most believed the next governor of Texas would be chosen in the Republican primary between Perry and Hutchison, because the Democratic field appeared so weak.

Then a couple of weeks ago, Bill White entered the race and the political landscape changed. Bill White, as a popular Houston mayor, was term limited out of office. Since the office of mayor is not readily viewed as a partisan position, he immediately gains much anti-incumbent support against either Perry or Hutchison, each having held partisan offices for years! With his entering the race, two likely opponents have withdrawn from the race, helping to unify the Texas Democratic Party, while the two so called top contenders in the Republican party are engaged in a contest of who can run the most negative TV commercial. Also many Democrats are energized and their leaders “smell blood in the water” at the chance to run against either Perry or Hutchison. They believe they have an advantage, even in a so called “red” state because of the influence from the national party and from the influence of the Obama administration.

Supporters of Perry or Hutchison can hardly be described as energized. Sadly the negative commercials they are running against each other are largely true and their supporters are having to over look their shortcoming or try to make excuses. This is hardly a strategy by which elections are won.

Therefore is it time for Perry and Hutchison to rethink their positions and for their supporters to reconsider their endorsements? Perry could acknowledge that he understands the anti-incumbent mood of the voters and he would withdraw for the good of the party. He could use this action to show his appreciation to the voters for allowing him to serve as the longest seated governor of Texas. Hutchison could withdraw acknowledging that she has grasp the desire of the voters for her to finish her term in Washington and fight for the conservative principles of the Party there. This would allow the party to unite behind Debra Medina. With the support of the Republican Party, her ability to snatch the anti-incumbent and Independent voters from Bill White, the fact that many Democrats support her positions on abolishing property taxes, protecting gun rights and defending Texas and Texans from the intrusive arm of the Federal government, and some even view her Hispanic last name as favorably , these benefits would allow the Republicans to win “big time” in 2010 and lay the ground work for an even bigger win in 2012.

There is no doubt that a lot of the supporters of Perry and Hutchison had no idea that Bill White would the on the Democratic ballot for Governor. Likewise they had no idea that there would be a viable third candidate on the Republican ballot. So with the current information, would it be dishonorable for them to change their endorsements? Or would it be even more dishonorable to hand over the great state of Texas to more of the socialistic schemes like those we see coming out of Washington every day? This is the decision every Hutchison and Perry committed supporter must make. The future of our children and grandchildren, the future of Texas and perhaps our nation will depend upon their decision.

This is a pivotal moment for the Republican Party and it leaders. Will they show leadership and return to their founding principles or will they ignore the voters one time too many, and see our state and nation continue its slide into complete socialistic control. I am begging you to change your endorsement and give your support to Debra Medina. Together, we can all win!
