From an article in the Austin American Statesman, it seems some of the people who attended the Nullification Rally on Saturday, felt that had been co-opted or used.

I want to share my feelings concerning this event. I contacted John Stacey several times prior to this event and as a Medina supporter would have attended, but I smelled a rat from the start. I first asked if he supported nullification why was Debra’s name or picture no where to be found on his web site, when the had all the favorable pictures and the Perry quote. He said he had never thought about it looking like the site was supporting Perry. He just wanted Perry to pledge to support nullification.

He claimed he was a good friend of Debra’s. Because I am a Medina supporter, I wanted to believe him. He did eventually put up a quote by Debra. Then when I learned he wanted Debra to attend the event to “mingle “in the crowd, but not to speak, I knew I would not be attending. It was obvious he and his group wanted (needed) the Medina supporters, but at the same time wanted to seek favor with Perry and his supporters.

This is arrogant, two faced and the typical elitist mentality. They want us, ordinary people, to believe they are on our side, while they use us for their own agenda and political gain. All of us involved in the tea party and 9-12 events saw the Republicans try to use these to their advantage.

The events would be put forth as non-political, but every event I attended had Republican candidates either speaking or collecting signatures to get on the ballot, while those of us supporting Debra were told, “we could not speak on Debra’s behalf because it was non-political.”

The more support Debra gets the more people are going to be trying to use her and us, like the “bone” KBH threw Debra during the debate, to get her to challenge Perry. We all need to be on our toes. I agree with Jonsie, “fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on ME!”

Now, I’m for Medina.” reported the Austin American Statesman

For weeks before the rally, the supposed “organizer” John Stacy had told Medina supporters that his was a “non-political” gathering with the hopes of unifying folks to the nullification idea.

If you recall Medina was the first Gubernatorial candidate to bring this option up in a press release almost two months ago. When Medina supporters ask that Debra be able to speak, Stacy reiterated that there would be no candidates participating.

Then supporters got word that Rick Perry would be attending and once again contacted Stacy. His response was that Perry was governor and that the movement had more chance of succeeding if the Governor was on board. Right before the rally, Stacy contacted the campaign and ask that Debra be there “in the event” that the Governor would not sign the “Nullification Pledge” The campaign responded that Debra was booked and unless she could speak she wouldn’t be there. Of course, that meant neither would her supporters. Stacy knew this and ultimately said that Debra could speak to the audience.

Debra and her supporters showed up which was the vast majority of the 600 participants who came. (This number is according to the Austin American Statesman; several supporters estimated closer to 1000.)

Of course Perry didn’t show up. He wasn’t about to be in competition with Medina twice in one week! But instead of a “non-political” rally, Leo Berman R-Tyler, Wayne Christian R-Center and Sen. Jeff Wentword R-San Antonio were there and all were cheerleaders for Rick Perry.

While they railed against the establishment, people held up signs clearly indicating that they WERE part of the establishment. Anti-Rerry and Kay signs were also numerous in the crowd. Medina supporters chanted her name and were anxious for her to take the stage.

After the event, supporters questioned Stacy about Medina not speaking. Stacy said “well, tell her to go ahead and get up there”! The nerve. Medina is a professional and would never take the stage in such a manner.

Stacy told others that the “organizers” didn’t want her to speak. Although he had postured himself as the organizer of the event on many occassions. But now we know the “organizers” were really the Perry GOP crowd.

I’ve done some research on the RevolutionNow.org group, The NotinTexas.org group and others that are affiliated with them. It seems that big health insurance groups are the organizers which I have no problem with. They should be organizaing and our supporters would help them but no help will be forthcoming from Medina supporters that in any way would promote the establishment bureaucracy. This should not have been billed as a grassroots group and certainly the organizers should not have been dishonest about who they were and their political agenda.

Medina supporters were used by this GOP astro-turf organization. Use me once, shame on you; Use me twice, shame on me.

I was fortunate enough to attend events in Seguin and in LaGrange. I don’t think I have ever been to more enthusiastic gatherings…since the Ron Paul Revolution events. The Medina campaign materials and Sheriff Mack books were going like hot cakes. (Hot cakes would have been good in Seguin Saturday morning where the temperature was barely above freezing.) I am sure that deterred some people from attending. Not good with numbers myself, I asked a long time political friend to give an estimate of the crowd. Her response was, “200″ without hesitation. Of course the paper reported “100″ ! We are use to such “media math.”

Most of those attending both meetings, with whom I spoke, were not familiar with Debra Medina’s campaign until the last few weeks after hearing about the coming event. However, they were totally won over and were eager to spread the message that electing a Governor who is committed to our Constitution and electing a sheriff who will uphold his oath of office and protect his local citizens from the Federal Government is the fastest way to restore Freedom and Prosperity to our State and our Country.

Like myself until 2 years ago when I met Sheriff Mack, no one I spoke with had heard that Sheriff Mack had challenged the Brady Bill in the Supreme Court and had won! No county sheriff has to enforce any such rules, or any other Federal mandates or programs. This news was eagerly embraced.

The attendence in LaGrange was somewhat less, but there were many home school families present with their children. It was wonderful to see children learning the truth about our country, and our Consittuion at such an early age. It is truly their future that hangs in the balance in the 2010 election. I ask one lady I had met before, if she were supporting Medina prior to the program starting. She, seeing my Medina tee-shirt could tell I was a supporter and did not want to seem rude, just said she had not made up her mind. After the program, I approached her and before I could say a word, she exclaimed, “That lady is a rock star!” One more supporter in on the team.

I have heard similar positive reports from the Round Rock event. The crowd was enthusastic and generous with donations, as well as buying materials. The message of Freedom is spreading. People are tired of wormed over political promises that are never kept once the incumbants are re-elected.

I have not heard any reports of the two events on Sunday, but I hope someone will post soon. What I wonderful week-end for the message of Freedom being spread across our State.

My husband and I attended the tea party held in Brenham today. It was part of the national journey for the Tea Party Express #2 on their trip from California to Florida.

It was really exciting to see such a large and enthusastic crowd in even a small community. One person extimated there were between 7 and 800 people.

There were two speakers while we were waiting for the Tea Party Express buses to arrive. One was Thaddaus Hill who spoke on “The Imperial Presidency” and how both parties have violated our Constitution in gathering more and more power to the executive branch of government, thus trampling on the rights of the States and on the right of the soverign citizens. Then Mack Bean directly addressed that our rights come from our Creator and that instead of calling the first 10 Amendments the Bill of Rights, it would be more accurate the call them the Numerated Limitations of Government. He admonished that until we the people exercise our God given rights and hold our government representatives accountable, then we will continue to loose our freedoms and government tyranny will continue. Both speakers and those in attendence seemed to agree “Enough is Enough!”

Both Mr. Hill and Mr. Bean are professors at Blinn College. If you need a speaker for your civic, church or school group I can hardily recommend each of these individuals. They will speak the truth and back it up with documentation.

I was the only person I saw in a Medina tee-shirt and Bob wore his Medina sticker. We did ot actively pass out material, but were able to talk with people . Fortunately some people had heard of Debra, but more had not. We need to be diligent in spreading the word. All in all, it was a very positive event as has every tea party we have attended been.

Go to: www.teapartyexpress.org to find the dates and locations nearest to you. Then get on your Medina for Governor tee-shirts and turn out in mass. Show that We Texans support less government and less taxation. We have a candidate, Debra Medina, who will live up to her oath of office, to protect and defend our Constitution from enemies without and within.

Our message is right “liberty!” The timing is right “NOW!” Our candidate is right, “Debra Medina. “ We have had enough of politics as usual. This is not a fad… this is a “movement!”

We know we have the right message “liberty.” We have the right candidate “Debra Medina” but it still takes money to fund the campaign and bring home the victory on March 2nd.

If you do not make a pledge in advance then be sure to make your donation on November 5th anyway. The message is “Remember Remember the 5th of November!

Debra is slated to be on the Alex Jones Show today (Thursday, October 29, 2009) during the third hour (1:00pm to 2:00pm CST).

If you can’t listen in live, you can always download the mp3 from that hour by going to www.gcnlive.com and selecting “Listen”, then go to Alex’s listing and click on “Archives”. From there you’ll be directed to a couple another screen asking for the month, which will then lead to the four (it’s a four hour show) links for the specific hours of the show. Right-Click and “Save Target As” (or “Save Link As” in Firefox) on the third-hour selection and VOILA!

Each one-hour segment is only about 6.7Mb in length, so even those with dialup shouldn’t have a problem retreiving it.

Enjoy!

Blanco County Coordinator – Debra Medina Campaign
