Divide and Conquer

Folks are we going to let this continue to happen? All the squabbling back and forth with Democrats pointing fingers at the Republicans and the Republicans blaming the Democrats for all our problems. It makes for good late night comedy, but it sure doesn’t make for good government.

Anyone who considers themselves a Democrat today and cannot acknowledge that the current administration has not fulfilled their campaign promises, has a serious problem. They promised to bring home the troops, to bring in transparency, help the people on main street, instead of business as usual, where the help goes to their Wall Street cronies. They even promised to make bills available, so citizens could read them before they are up for a vote, but this promise also has been swept under the rug. I could site much more, but this shows the Democratic Party has its own integrity problem.

Now not to let the Republicans off the hook. Why are the Democrats in control of the House, the Senate and the White House any way? Because the last eight years with the Republicans running the show has been a disaster. Government has done nothing but grow in size, in cost and in intrusion into our personal lives. It was the so called party of less government and lower taxes that gave us the newest prescription drug entitlement program and even passed the initial stimulus package, to bail out their buddies on Wall Street.

What is the answer! It is up to us the voters to put this to a stop. Now I am not talking about some phony plea for bi-partisanship. I am calling for Democrats to demand that their leaders clean up their own party and for Republican voters to do the same.

That is why I am passionately supporting Debra Medina for Governor in 2010. Debra has a long history as a Republican activist. She has even served as Wharton County Chair for the Republican Party. However, she has been very out spoken about the problems within the party leadership. Now that doesn’t make her very popular with those who toe the party line and vote for whatever and whoever the party anoints.

However, it sure does warm the cockles of the hearts of citizens who have seen these problems for years, but had no one with the integrity and leadership ability to stand up against the system.

There is a movement that I believe  is becoming a ground swell. There are the 9-12 events, the tea parties, the “kick them all out” efforts growing across the nation. People do not want to hear any more about what is wrong with the “other party,” we want someone that represents us, not the bankers, the lobbyists, and the internationalists. Certainly neither Rick “good hair” Perry nor Kay “bailout” Hutchison do not meet that standard. They were both in office when the Republicans had total control and were a part of the mess those eight years created. To me both of them should be ashamed to even ask a voter to give them another term in office. But then it does not appear they have any shame.

If you care more about our country and our children’s and grandchildren’s future, then do not vote for one of these “lesser of  two evils.” Please check out Debra Medina carefully. I am not asking you to take my word for it, see for yourself. She supports, abolishing property taxes, protecting innocent life, and protecting gun and property rights. She supports securing our borders and she will say NO to the TTC, the NAU, NAIS and electronic voting. Most of all she is committed to upholding her oath of office to protect and defend our Constitution from enemies without and within!!!

When you have done your home work, I believe you will be excited to join in and elect a governor who will not just blame everything on the other party, but will live up to the promises she has made.

Vote for Debra Medina in 2010!!

I just saw on the news that Dick Cheney is suppose to be endorsing KBH for governor. This really made me think about my earlier post. Are we going to let ourselves be divided again? Mr. Cheney has become the public defender of the Bush administration and the official “Obama Basher” for the Republican Party. Because we as Republicans are very unhappy with what the Dems and Obama are doing, are we going to be persuaded by a Cheney endorsement? Have we forgotten that he was instrumental in selling the idea of “weapons of mass destruction” and the invasion of Iraq and don’t forget the role Halliburton plays in the military-industrial complex. When we consider his past advice on international issues, maybe we should have second thoughts about trusting his judgment for choosing our next Governor of Texas?

Cheney has probably done DM a favor. Even the most dedicated republican will utter under their breath what a liability Cheney has been to the part. What kind of guy shoots his own hunting partner with bird shot?
